Prosecutor’s office halves prison sentence requested against actress Ana Duato for tax evasion

The anti-corruption prosecution reduced the prison sentence requested against the actress from 32 years to 16 years Ana Duato for the call Nummaria affair.

The public prosecutor accuses him of several tax offenses for the imposition, through the law firm which gives its name to the case, of his winnings in the series Tell me how it happenedin which she plays the character of Merche.

Precisely, the interpreter Imanol Arias, her filming partner and husband in fiction, was another of the defendants in this case, but at the start of the trial he managed to make a pact with Anti-Corruption and avoid prison.

Today, in the final written conclusions of the prosecution, to which EL ESPAÑOL had access, prosecutor Tomás Herranz halves his initial request, after having ruled out for several years the commission of fraud against the Treasury by the actress. For others, however, he maintains his accusation.

Likewise, Anticorruption reduces its request against 67 years of prison Fernando Penadirector of the Nummaria law firm and another of the defendants in this case.

He is seeking 231 years and 9 months in prison for up to 57 tax crimes, criminal organization and procedural fraud, among other offenses, compared to the nearly three centuries requested by Herranz before the trial.

From now on, the sentence to which Duato faces could be further reduced, since the prosecutor, as explained during one of the last sessions of the trial, recognizes the possibility that the court of first instance could conclude that the thousands of euros that the actress paid to a company it was not a diversion to reduce what she had to pay to the Treasury, for personal income tax.

In this case, the prosecutor would also withdraw the charge for the years 2014 and 2015, which would mean that he would charge only for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the sentence requested by the public prosecutor would be reduced to a decade. in prison only.
