The Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has filed a complaint for revealing the secrets of former minister José Luis Ábalos, after seeing signs of delinquency in the account he presented in writing about the Koldo case, leaks that affect his private sphere and his entourage.
According to documents that ABC has had access to, after filing a complaint with the state attorney general, a decision announced by Ábalos himself at a press conference at the Congress of Deputies on July 24, the case was referred to the Madrid attorney general, which is the competent one.
And there, after analyzing the facts, they decided to file a complaint before the capital’s investigating courts, which have fallen to 33 in number, according to the judicial sources consulted.
“I took this initiative because the systematic publication of information contained in the judicial process of the “Delorme case” does not only concern me personally without being investigated, but also other citizens who are not subject to criminal accusations and investigations by anyone. “We must be guarantors of the purity of the procedure in said case,” Ábalos said on his networks when announcing the initiative.
Now, if the court decides to accept the prosecutor’s complaint for processing, he will be able to file the charge as a victim and injured party and promote the investigation. “At some point, it will be necessary to demand the validity of the rule of law, the principle of legality and respect for justice,” the former minister said.
