The Court of Instruction 4 of Burgos, acting as guardian, accepted this Wednesday to enter the provisional prison, communicated and without bail, of the detainee this Tuesday for killing his roommate with a knife. The man is being investigated as a suspect in a homicide.
The victim, aged 56, died after being stabbed in the abdomen at his home, at number 50 Ruiz de Alarcón Street, by his 55-year-old roommate.
According to the investigation, at the hands of the Burgos National Police, a younger individual who also lived in the house where the events occurred, called 112 to warn of the seriousness of the injuries suffered by the victim.
Sacyl staff went to the scene and treated him at home. He was then transferred to a mobile intensive care unit at the Burgos University Care Complex, where he eventually died.
The officers who arrived first on the scene, the local police and the national police, found the man seriously injured, helped by his companion who was trying to plug the incised wound he had on the left side of his chest.
They immediately collaborated, trying to keep the deceased alive until the arrival of emergency services, who stabilized the victim for more than an hour and kept him alive, before transferring him to the University Hospital of Burgos. Despite all medical efforts, the man ultimately died.
At the same time, police officers from the two security forces immediately carried out a search in the surrounding area, since the main suspect, known to the police for his numerous criminal records, had fled the house.
Minutes later, he was found wandering in a street near the location. He was immediately arrested and an eleven-centimeter kitchen knife hidden among his clothes was seized. The main hypothesis is that the said knife would be the murder weapon.
