There was two deaths so far this month: A young woman was hit (the driver fled) in La Pitilla, a neighborhood where residents report car racing and a 24-year-old motorcyclist died after hitting a van. Both events, Velasco points out, “raised serious concerns” among neighbors.
The first mayor assures that “we had a notable increase in road accidents in recent months. “Even if measures are taken, we understand that the increase in accidents requires that we make every effort to control this situation,” he said, before making a series of announcements.
