Former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont warned the current president, Salvador Illa, on Wednesday that with 42 deputies, “a government cannot claim to speak on behalf of Catalonia and even less govern against the majority of the population.
This was defended during his telematic speech at an event of the Consell de la República (CdRep) in Verges (Girona), during which seven new municipalities joined the institutional consumption campaign of the CdRep: Cervià de Ter, Sant Jordi Desvalls, Albons, Jafre, Verges, Viladamat i Saus, Camallera and Llampaies (Girona).
“There is a government without complexes, militantly hostile to the independence of Catalonia“which will harass us a lot,” he warned, while assuring that the attacks, literally, coming from outside, will intensify.
Similarly, he said that the independence movement should maintain “more than ever a part of the main beams” which allowed him to move forward, including, according to him, the referendum of October 1.
He classified it as a reference for the future and a founding element to those who are “tempted to leave it in a museum.”
