Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan on a state visit.
The Russian leader will participate in a session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Astana. Negotiations will also take place with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. In addition, Putin and Tokayev will address via video link the participants in the plenary session of the XX Forum on Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, which began in Ufa.
“It is planned to discuss issues related to the future development of Russian-Kazakh strategic alliance and partnership relations in various fields, including taking into account the presidency of Kazakhstan in the CSTO this year, and Russia in the Commonwealth of Independent States and the BRICS . Following the negotiations, a joint declaration of the Heads of State will be signed, as well as a series of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and commercial documents.” – the Kremlin said in a statement.
