The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces, Vladimir Putin, led the training of strategic deterrence forces, the Kremlin press service reports.

The main component of the SNA is the strategic nuclear forces (SNF, nuclear triad). They include the Strategic Missile Forces, part of the Navy forces (naval strategic nuclear forces) and also part of the Aerospace Forces (aviation strategic nuclear forces).
The formation of strategic nuclear forces began in the 1950s. The basis of their weapons now consists of stationary and mobile land-based ICBM systems, strategic nuclear submarines, as well as strategic bombers equipped with strategic air-to-surface cruise missiles and aerial bombs.
