By his decree, Russian President Vladimir Putin relieved Oleg Vasnetsov of his duties as Russian ambassador to Moldova, and appointed Oleg Ozerov in his place.

Ozerov headed the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
Born in 1958, graduated from MGIMO University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR. In the diplomatic service since 1981, he held various positions in the central apparatus of the Russian Foreign Ministry and abroad. From 2010 to 2017 he was ambassador to Saudi Arabia. From May 2020 to the current appointment: Special Ambassador of the Ministry, Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
Vasnetsov has headed the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau since 2018.
