Russian President Vladimir Putin has donated more than 70 animals, including a lion and two bears, to the Pyongyang Central Zoo, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology.

“Today I am giving my Korean comrades a gift from Vladimir Putin at the Pyongyang Zoo. We brought more than 70 copies,” said the head of this portfolio, Alexandr Kozlov, in the North Korean capital on Thursday, quoted by his press service.

The minister stressed that “animals have historically occupied an important place in interstate relations; They are offered as a sign of support, kindness and concern.

Putin’s gift, in addition to the lion and two bears, includes two domestic yaks, five white cockatoos, 25 pheasants and 40 mandarin ducks.

Kozlov, Russian co-chairman of the Russian-North Korean intergovernmental commission for economic and trade cooperation, noted that the Moscow and Pyongyang zoos have been cooperating for 13 years.

Ukraine and its allies have denounced the fact that North Korea sent soldiers to fight alongside Russia against kyiv.
