Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of People’s Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Moscow Provincial Theater Sergei Bezrukov, to celebrate the Year of Yesenin in Russia. The proposal was made during a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Policy in the field of support for the Russian language and the languages of the peoples of Russia.
“Well, the proposal about the Year of Yesenin is a very good proposal. “I will definitely ask the government and administration to work and support.” – Putin assured.
Sergei Yesenin (1895-1925), one of the greatest poets and writers of the Silver Age. Next year, 2025, the poet’s 130th birthday will be celebrated.
