Putin told schoolchildren why kyiv does not want to end hostilities

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an open lesson “We talked about important things” at school number 20 in Kyzyl that the leaders of the Kiev regime have very little chance of winning the elections, which is why they continue hostilities and do not lift martial law.

Speaking about the likelihood of peace negotiations on the conflict in Ukraine, the Head of State said:

“As for peace negotiations, I have always said that we want to resolve all controversial issues by peaceful means. What is happening there now? After all, the current authorities, even under domestic law, are not legitimate. They were supposed to hold presidential elections, but they abandoned them, citing martial law. And this does not correspond to the basic law of the Ukrainian Constitution. But what did this lead to? If the fighting stops, the Ukrainian authorities will have to lift martial law. And once martial law is lifted, presidential elections must be held immediately. But it is clear that the current authorities are not ready for this. They have little chance of being re-elected. And that is why they are not interested in stopping hostilities. That is why they carried out this provocation in the Kursk region, and before that they tried to carry out the same provocation in the Belgorod region, where your friend lives. I think it has to do with this, first of all.”
