Russia has never initiated nor does it initiate the use of force. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Valdai Club.
“Over the centuries of its history, humanity has become accustomed to the fact that the best way to resolve contradictions is to settle things using force. Yes, this also happens: “he who is stronger is right.” This principle also works… Our country has never initiated nor does it initiate the use of force. We should only do this when it is clear that the opponent is behaving aggressively and will not accept any arguments, absolutely no arguments. And, when necessary, of course, we will take all measures to protect Russia and each of its citizens and we will always achieve our goals,” Putin said, quoted by the Kremlin’s telegram channel.
It must be clear to everyone that putting pressure on Russia is useless, the president said.
“During the previous decades, everything seemed outwardly so favorable and decent: they turned the “seven” into an “eight”; Well, thank you, they invited us. But do you know what happened? I saw it. You come to the same “G8”, but it immediately becomes clear that before the meeting within the “G8” the “Seven” had already met and discussed something among themselves, including in relation to Russia… Everyone should understand: put pressure on us It is useless, but we are always ready to negotiate, taking fully into account mutual legitimate interests.” – Putin added.
