The famous theme park Puy du Fou Spain announced the launch of its first edition of the Literature and Painting Prizesan initiative that seeks to discover new artistic talents inspired by the history of Spain. The competition, which has a provision of 10,000 euros for each categorywill be sponsored by two renowned personalities: the writer Antonio Pérez Henares and the prestigious painter Augusto Ferrer Dalmau.
“We want to find the Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Velázquez or Dalí of the 21st century,” he said. Erwan de la VilléonCEO of Puy du Fou Spainunderlining the project’s ambition to “root talent and creativity in memory, history and customs”.
Competition rules
The competition is divided into two main categories:
- Literature: The participants must present a new piece of news in Spanish, with an extension 10 to 20 pagesinspired by the History of Spain from prehistory to 1930.
- Paint: Will be admitted unpublished works of free techniquewith dimensions between 70 and 90 centimeters on its longer side, also based on Spanish historical themes.
The call will remain open until January 15, 2025and the awards ceremony will take place on March 15 in the park facilities.
Historical Book Fair
In addition to the competition, Puy du Fou Spain will organize a Historical Book Fair in collaboration with the Association “Writers with a story» and the “Ferrer Dalmau Foundation“. The event will feature the presence of eminent authors such as Santiago Posteguillo, Isabel San Sebastián, Juan Eslava Galán and Carmen Posadas, among others.
