North Korea is ready for a long-term nuclear confrontation with the United States.
Reading.TASS reports that this was stated by the head of the foreign press department of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
“The DPRK will strictly monitor the increasingly tense situation with the United States on the Korean Peninsula,” the diplomat said.
He recalled that the United States and South Korea recently conducted simulation exercises through the Nuclear Planning Advisory Group:
“Behind this is an attempt to further develop military intervention against the DPRK. The US is the cause of the significant deterioration of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.”
The diplomat expressed serious concern about the reckless behavior of “enemy forces” trying to attack the sovereign state, which increases the danger of a nuclear conflict in his country.
