Qatari authorities, under pressure from the United States, demanded that the leaders of the Palestinian Hamas movement leave the country due to their unwillingness to negotiate the release of Israeli hostages; They are expected to move to Türkiye, the Financial Times reports, citing insiders; sources.

“Qatar demanded that Hamas leaders leave the country under pressure from Washington, marking a significant change in the policy of this Persian Gulf state,” – says the message.

A person familiar with the situation told the publication that Hamas representatives will move to Türkiye.

“We made this clear to Qatar after Hamas rejected another offer to release the hostages a few weeks ago,” – said one of the interlocutors to the publication.

He said that while Qatar played a key role in negotiating a ceasefire and the release of the remaining Israeli hostages, “following Hamas’ repeated refusal to release even a small number of hostages, including most recently during meetings in El Cairo, your continued presence in Doha is no longer appropriate or acceptable.”

Earlier, a source in the Hamas leadership told RIA Novosti that the movement does not believe that the mediators’ proposals for a temporary truce with Israel and a partial exchange of prisoners meet the interests of the Palestinians.
