“A great man has left, an immense footballer”wrote AS Saint-Etienne on its X account, on Friday, November 8, announcing the death of Rachid Mekhloufi, a figure of the football club and of Algerian football. He was 88 years old. “Rachid Mekhloufi is no more, but his legacy will never leave us », adds the club.
He signed in 1954 for the club, which he left in 1958 to move to Tunisia to participate in the creation of the Algerian National Liberation Front (FLN) team.
