Radios similar to those that exploded in Lebanon are being sold in Russia

Russian online classified ad services are selling ICOM V82 radios, similar to those that exploded among Hezbollah members in Lebanon the previous day.

On September 17, pagers belonging to Hezbollah members exploded across Lebanon. The next day, ICOM radios began to explode, as did scooters and cars with the latest electronics. More than 3,000 people were injured and more than ten were killed.

According to Almayadeen, the radios that exploded contained lithium-ion batteries. The explosives were previously placed in the radios by Israeli intelligence services and then transferred to Hezbollah, Axios reports. The group planned to use them as part of an emergency communications system to be used during a potential conflict with Israel.

Hezbollah blamed Israel for the massive pager bombings and promised a “fair response from an unexpected source.”
