The Cordovan artist Rafael de Rueda has just designed the shield of the sacramental parish group of Nuestro Padre Jesús Cautivo on the Cedrón Bridge, María Santísima de la Victoria and Santa Beatriz de Silva.
Three cartridgestwo of which are larger and placed symmetrically, include the symbols of the two devotions, the Lord and the Virgin, with the symbol JHS raised on a bridge, and the letters M and A intertwined respectively with a V for Victory.
The description, published by the parish group In his December information sheet, he indicates that the third, smaller, cartouche alludes to the head of the Parque Azahara parish, Santa Beatriz de Silva, with a bouquet of lilies united with the pastoral crosier, surmounted by a star.
The background chosen for the three cartridges is red, due to the sacramental character of this group, and for this reason it is highlighted in the area above the Lamb of God“Jesus Christ offered as a sacrifice for the sins of men, seated on the book of the seven seals of the Apocalypse” on a glow. Under the Lamb, the sacred Chalice from which the ears are born.
Above the glow is the phrase “Lord, You who take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us.” All the elements are surrounded by a baroque border in which there is a phylactery alluding to the sacred holders.
The presentation of this shield was the prelude to the events to come: Saturday November 30 and December 1 will be the kiss the hand of the Virgin of Victory, and during mass on Sunday, the first of Advent, the blessing and imposition of the first medals with the shield will take place.
During the weekend the Cautivo y Victoria group develops the campaign ‘One kiss, one liter’ intended for parish Caritas. Pasta, legumes, gel and shampoo are the most necessary products for collection (from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Milk and oil have already been donated in recent days by companies and individuals.
