Rapper Fatman Scoop Dies at 53 after collapsing in a concert in Hamden, Connecticut, USA This Friday night, early Saturday morning in Spain. The rapper performed at the Green and Gold Party summer concert in Hamdenabout six miles outside of New Haven, when he collapsed on stage. That’s when they took him to the hospital. His death was confirmed by Birch Michael, Freeman’s tour manager, producer and DJ.

They saw it first how bad he felt and began to stagger around on stage. He then collapsed behind his DJ, Birch Michael’s, turntable and mixer, as you can see in the video below.. Doctors quickly arrived on the scene to help him. They then performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The rapper’s cause of death is currently unknown.

His instantly recognizable, raspy voice appeared in That’s how it is by Mariah Carey and on Missy Elliott’s 2005 single Lose controlwhich won the award for Best Short Film at the 48th Grammy Awards. Fatman Scoop rose to fame with his 1999 hit Be faithfulin which he participated Clan Crooklynwith its catchy chorus: Single Ladies, I Can’t Hearing You / All the Chickenheads, Be Quiet!, which marked New York hip hop and club culture for decades.
