Rapper and producer Kanye West (Ye) has filmed a documentary about himself, whose budget is estimated at one billion dollars, reports Variety.
Film in whose name? (In Whose Name?) was filmed over the past six years and features rare, never-before-seen footage and “promises to present a unique cinematic perspective on Ye’s public transformation.”
It is clarified that West invited an 18-year-old young man Nicolas Ballesterosarmed with an iPhone, on a six-year journey that reveals unfiltered aspects of the celebrity’s life that confront the provocative opinions, grandiose visions and bold contradictions that have defined him as the world’s most controversial artist. The film will tell the story of how West managed to become “the richest black man in American history.”
“In whose name?” explores the intersecting influences of corporate exploitation, racial complexities, and psychological problems inherent to the American dream.” – says the description of the tape.
So far, only the release date of the promotional video in the American film market has been announced: November 7.
