On Saturday, up to 40 cm of snow fell into the northern regions of the new South Wales.
According to the Australian meteorological department, this is the highest amount of the middle of the -1980s.
Snow also hit the neighboring state of Queensland for the first time for 10 years.
Bad weather forced some schools to close on the northern coast of the state, while the authorities issued warnings about floods in some injured areas.
According to the emergency services of the new South Wales, the huge amount of snowfall in combination with heavy rains and thunderstorms in other parts of the state led to more than 1455 cases on weekends.
