Red Bull explains why it did not respond to Aston Martin’s offer to Adrian Newey

During an interview on ‘Motorsport.com’, Christian Hornerhead of Red Bullstopped to analyze the output of Adrien Newey of the team.

The most successful engineer in the history of Formula 1 will change Milton Keynes for Silverstone from 2025 after an irrefutable offer from Laurent Promenadeowner of Aston Martin.

In fact, Horner assures us that they have never been close to being able to match this succulent proposition from the Canadian.

“The deal he made with Aston Martin, with actions and so onthat’s something that just wasn’t on the table here,” he explained.

“I can understand it: Adrian wants another chance in Formula 1 and, as a shareholder and partner of a team“I certainly don’t blame him,” he added.

“The agreement we had until the end of 2025 was that he would retire from Formula 1 and I would just be a mentor. Otherwise, we were going to lose the other technicians to certain rival teams,” he concluded.

According to what the ‘BBC’ published after the announcement of the signing, Adrian Newey’s salary at Aston Martin would be 35 million euros per yearbut the key, as Horner says, lies in owning the team and taking responsibility for its future.
