The immense tragedy that occurred in the province of Valence as a result of DANA last Tuesday, October 29, caused a wave of solidaritynot only from Valencians, but also from all regions of Spain.

Some institutions and companies have expressed solidarity with the difficult situation that the province is currently facing, entirely focused on help and assistance to victims and the material reconstruction of all affected areas.

One of them is Renfe, the railway transport company also joined in this solidarity action which coincides with the resumption of high-speed train service on the Madrid-Valencia line. And the company launched the initiative on “Solidarity Train“, in collaboration with the Red Cross.

This solidarity train is the AVE train which, on the day of Thursday November 14 He left Madrid at 12:36 p.m. and arrived at Valencia Joaquín Sorolla station around 2:35 p.m.

The initiative will continue in time until it is neededas transmitted by the entity in a declaration. Furthermore, it aims transport essential supplies and equipment for people who suffered the effects of the floods caused by the passage of the DANA in the Valencian Community.

To do this, one of the wagons was transformed into special wagon after dismantling the passenger seats, leaving an open space to transport the necessary equipment.

With this initiative, Renfe wants to help transport the necessary equipment to the Valencian city to contribute to the recovery and reconstruction of the region, thus demonstrating its firm commitment to society and its vocation of public service.

Return of service

Last Thursday, after more than two weeks of interruption, the circulation of high-speed trains between Madrid and Valenciainterrupted by the damage caused by DANA to the railway network.

The concern regarding red alert issued by Aemet for Wednesday evening and the intense rains in the Valencian Community forced the railway company to take the decision not to restore the AVE and Avlo services planned from the first hour.

Once the red alert ended, Renfe recovered all high-speed services and also rescheduled Cercanías services in central Valencia from 12:00, as well as their alternative plans.

As soon as this service returns, Renfe recovers full broadband service of the line, so all high-speed trains will run in both directions, a total of 199 weekly draws with an offer of 80,000 places for the relationship.
