The 2nd Baku Security Forum was held under the organization of the State Security Service (SSS) with the participation of representatives of special services from about 50 countries.

Speaking at the event, the head of the Security Council, Colonel General Ali Nagiyev, after welcoming the guests, said that the Baku Security Forum, which was held in May last year and was reorganized this year, is of great importance in terms of expanding information exchange and other areas of interaction between partner institutions.
The head of the service, Ali Nagiyev, also stressed the importance of coordinating the activities of special services in the fight against international terrorism and situations considered a threat to the security system as a whole, noting that the event is an important platform for security structures of countries to discuss issues of common interest.
The head of the service noted that this year’s forum was held on the eve of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) and spoke of the need to further intensify efforts and increase the efficiency of overall activity.
Colonel General Ali Nagiyev stressed that the President of our State Ilham Aliyev has provided constant political support to the organization of events in our republic on issues relevant to the international world and expressed confidence that this conference will contribute to the formation of joint approaches and improvement of the strategy of action to combat the risks facing the security of global transport corridors.
The event was followed by speeches by the heads of the delegation of foreign special services agencies and at the end it was announced that the establishment of the Secretariat of the Baku Security Forum, which will operate permanently in Baku, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, received unanimous support from the participating countries.
