Representatives of Telegram have apologized to South Korean officials and removed several sexually explicit videos that were distributed on the platform.
Oku.Az TASS reported this with reference to the Republic of Korea’s Telecommunication Standards Commission.
The representative of the East Asia division of Telegram sent an official letter to the commission, expressing regret over the development of the situation.
The platform’s representative said it is willing to establish a trusting relationship with the commission to make Telegram even safer for users.
The platform also announced that it had removed 25 explicit videos at the request of the commission.
It should be noted that on September 2, the Korean police launched a preliminary internal investigation into suspicion of complicity in the distribution of prohibited sexually explicit video materials on Telegram.
