Representatives of the Flit de la Libertada in Spain filed a criminal complaint against the National Court against the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, its Minister of Defense and several senior military commanders for the approach to the ship’s ship on June 8, when the boat was heading to the gas page with a humanitarian weakening.
The legal lawsuit was filed by the Spanish activist Sergio Toribio, who was traveling aboard the ship, and the Committee of Solidarity of Arabic and accuses Netanyahu; Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz; Vice -Admiral David Saaru Salam and other commanders of the Jewish army of war crimes, Lesa Humanity, illegal detention and humiliating appeal, for “attack in international waters in a civil mission that sought to break the blockade in gas.”
“The ship was intercepted up to 100 sea miles, in international waters. He literally abducted a special combat unit (…), we were forcibly transferred to Tel -Aviv and put us in the hands of the authorities, without committing any crimes, ”Toribio said in statements of the media.
According to the description quoted by Europa Press, “personal electronic devices were confiscated, and the boat was towed to the Israeli port of Ashdod, where the detainees were deprived of freedom, incuzusomoda, were devoid of their things and attempted for forced impression.” Among the detainees were Greta Tunberg (Sweden) and Tiago Avila (Brazil).
“These facts, in accordance with the Spanish legal system, are military crimes that are framed in the context of the systematic attacks on the Palestinian population in Gaza and against which they are trying to help them,” said Efa Jama Asens, the organization’s lawyer. The lawsuit is considered in the principle of universal jurisdiction collected in Spanish legislation.
The ship Madlin transported food, medicines and medical materials for the civilian population of Palestinians in the context of blocking as illegal organization of the United Nations. Israel has been blocking a series of gas on land, sea and air since 2007, and from the beginning of the current war in October 2003, this blockade has even hardened.
The complaint states that the attack on Madlin reproduces the same scheme of disproportionate military force as the attack on the Mavi Marmara ship in 2010, when a dozen activists died, and that these actions are part of the “systematic strategy of repressions against international solidarity with the Palestinian population”.
Sandra Barrilllo, a representative of Flotilla in Spain, condemned the humanitarian situation in gas, remembering that since 2010, Flotilla de La Libertad has tried to reach Gaza with at least four ships. “Flita de la Libertad has always been severely attacked in international waters, which are an act of piracy,” he said.
