Repsol signs agreement with Omoda and Jaecoo to decarbonize Spain

Repsol and car manufacturers Omoda and Jaecoo have reached a framework collaboration agreement to promote the decarbonization of the automotive sector in Spain. A strategic agreement with which the oil company makes its extensive multi-energy offering available to the brands of the Chinese giant Chery.

These initiatives include its complete electric charging solution, both for customers and employees of the brands, the possibility of electrifying dealerships or head offices, 100% renewable fuels, photovoltaic production, self-consumption, energy efficiency projects, energy saving certificates, emissions compensation or the supply of 100% renewable electricity.

Alliance of Repsol, Omoda and Jaecoo

Furthermore, the framework agreement provides that WayletRepsol’s payment and loyalty application, which has more than 8 million registered users, becomes a means of payment in the car manufacturer’s dealer network and which SoleRepsol’s payment method for the professional sector, can be used to pay for electric recharges or fuel used in the extensive network of service stations that Repsol has distributed throughout the country. In addition, the Spanish company will offer users of the application special offers on Omoda and Jaecoo vehicles.

Another point of this collaboration includes exploring the possibility of using Repsol lubricants, the use of the Chinese brand’s vehicles in the oil company’s corporate fleets and exclusive offers for the workers of the multi-energy company.

Sales success

In six months, Omoda and Jaecoo have demonstrated an unprecedented reception in the Spanish market, with more than 4,000 units sold of a single model, the first with which they make their debut in our country and in Europe: the Omoda 5 petrol. In addition, in the coming weeks, the “zero emission” version of this model will be launched, to which must be added the new Jaécoo 7both in its petrol version and in its PHEV variant.

Susana BathsDirector of Repsol’s B2B sales force, said that “this framework agreement with Omoda and Jaecoo, which belong to one of the world’s leading car manufacturers, consolidates our multi-energy offering in Spain.” “The automotive sector needs all the energy solutions available to decarbonize and at Repsol we are ready to provide them,” he added.

Susana Baños and Darren Tu sign the agreement

For his part, the Country Manager of Omoda and Jaecoo in Spain, Darren Tustressed that “surrounding ourselves with the best partners in each sector continues to be one of our priorities and this is already having an impact on the commercial success that our products are enjoying”. “Our goal is to offer different sustainable multi-energy mobility solutions to adapt to all the tastes and needs of users. And that is why, in the middle of the implementation and expansion phase in our market, we have trusted in the enormous possibilities that the collaboration with a leading company in this field such as Repsol now offers us”, he added.

This agreement strengthens the role of both companies as relevant players in mobility in Spain and establishes a general framework for collaboration to advance towards the achievement of the objectives of decarburization in the transport sector.
