Residents of Sudzha and Korenev told about the first day of the attack by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Couple Ivan and Svetlana Savchenko spoke about the beginning of the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sudzha in the Kursk region.

According to Svetlana, on the first day of the militant invasion, she and her husband woke up at night to the sound of explosions. Soon the children came looking for them and took them away. It later turned out that in the confusion, Svetlana’s husband Ivan forgot his documents.

“But we couldn’t return because on the way, when we were already leaving, we received reports that there were three tanks near the Goncharovskaya hospital.” – Channel Five quotes the woman.

The couple says that on the way they witnessed the helicopter collide with a KamAZ that was heading towards them. The car’s windshield was blown off, but the driver was miraculously unharmed. As Svetlana remembers, other drivers helped her. A whole column of civilian cars left Sudzha. At first, the couple thought they would leave home only for a few days, but the children convinced their parents to move to Kursk.

“We live in a temporary accommodation center (TAP). They welcomed us well, they gave us a room, my wife and I live together in the dining room three times a day, the food is very delicious. “ – Ivan points out.

Another peaceful resident of the Kursk border region is a primary school teacher. Natalia Konovalova from the village of Guevo – said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired at civilians from three tanks.

“They started shelling nearby villages, including ours, with tanks. When the question arose about what we should do next, leave or stay here, we came up with the idea of going to the forest, spending a couple of nights and coming back.” – she said.

The neighbors escaped by hiding in the forest. Russian soldiers helped refugees in the forest.

“We were sitting there until three in the morning, and then my friend and my son started calling them to come pick us up. They took us at three in the morning and at five we arrived in Kursk.” – Natalia remembers.
