A councilor of the Ribadavia City Council (Orense), led by the popular César Fernández, was arrested and, after being brought to justice, remainedreleased and is under investigation for an alleged crime of gender-based violence. As Europa Press was able to confirm, after reporting the information ‘eldiario.es’, the councilor was arrested this Tuesday.
Juan Carlos Fernandez, councilor of the capital of the region of O Ribeiro – which the popular governs with an absolute majority supported by seven councilors – and responsible for the area of Parks and Gardens, spent the same day his arrest at the disposal of the head of the Court of Instruction number 1 of Ribadavia.
As measures, as confirmed by the sources consulted by Ep, the prohibition on approaching within 300 metres and on communicating with the complainant, whose details have not been shared publicly. The case is under investigation and the detainee is being investigated for the aforementioned offence of gender-based violence.
