Wealthy American citizens have become increasingly interested in emigrating ahead of the country’s presidential election. CNBC reported this on November 1, citing experts.
“We have never seen as much demand as we see now” – said the head of the private client group of the consulting firm Henley & Partners Dominic Volek.
The speaker underlined that the number of wealthy Americans wishing to leave the United States has increased by at least 30% compared to 2023: this layer fears political persecution and social unrest, regardless of who wins the US presidential election.
A survey by Arton Capital showed that 53% of American millionaires plan to leave the country after the presidential election. 64% of respondents between 19 and 29 years old said they were interested in obtaining golden visas through a residency by investment program in foreign countries.
Lawyers say Americans also cite school shootings, the potential for political persecution, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and rising government debt as reasons to leave.
American millionaires consider Portugal, Italy, Malta and the Caribbean islands to be the most attractive countries for emigration, clarifies Izvestia.
