ROBBED at Baku airport – DETAILS of the crime

The details of the kidnapping that took place in Baku last year have become clear.

According to Qafqazinfo, both the defendants and the victims in the criminal case were Pakistanis.

Thus, Pakistani citizens Abbas Muhammad Ibraheem Muhammad, Muzammil Muhammad Boota Muhammad and Mukhtar Mohsin Ahmad Mukhtar organized a group and kidnapped their fellow countrymen.

Khushnam Ali Muhammad, Shahzad Ali and their nephew Riaz Ava who were visiting Azerbaijan as tourists were kidnapped.

According to the plan, Mukhtar Mohsin arrived at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in April last year and waited for the victims who got off the plane. Shahzad Ali was the first to head to the exit gate. At that moment, Mukhtar Mohsin approached him and seemed to want to help him. He tricked Shahzad Ali in the name of delivery to the hotel he had booked in advance. After that, he got into the taxi he had ordered and arrived at the house on Azadlig Avenue, Binagadi district, Baku city, where he was renting with his group members. The group members beat Shahzad Ali here and tied his hands and feet.

They called other relatives of the victim to kidnap them. At that time, the criminals stuck a paper cutter into Shahzad Ali’s throat, called the others to the house and tied his hands and feet.

The criminals then called the relatives of the kidnapped men and demanded $20,000. This money was handed over to an unknown person close to a criminal group in Pakistan.

Despite receiving the money, the hostages were not released. Interestingly, the victims escaped from the hands of the criminals themselves. Thus, Khushnam Ali and Shahzad Ali freed their hands and feet from the rope, taking advantage of the confusion of the group members in the other room of the apartment and escaped by climbing out of the apartment window and moving to the neighboring apartment.

It should be noted that the trial of the accused ended last month. According to the verdict of the Baku Court of Serious Crimes, each of the members of the group was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
