“The Ministry of Energy is working to finance the retirement of spent nuclear units,” the department reports, citing a joint meeting of the State Duma committees.
“Today there are 35 power units. Of them, 9 have already been dismantled. In total, until 2093, 3 trillion rubles will be needed to achieve this goal.” — said the vice minister of Energy to the deputies Evgeniy Grabchak. He noted that options are being considered to receive subsidies from the budget and Rosatom.
At the same time, the Energy Ministry noted, the Russian president has set a goal of increasing the share of nuclear generation to 25% by 2045.
“It is included in the strategic development documents of the electrical industry and will be completed in time,” – the department promised.
