Rosaviation suspended the certificate of Vityaz-Aero in Kamchatka

The Federal Air Transport Agency suspended the operator’s certificate of the Vityaz-Aero helicopter company in Kamchatka after the Mi-8 helicopter crash, the governor of the Kamchatka Territory, Vladimir Solodov, reported.

The Mi-8 helicopter crashed on August 31 in the Vachkazhets mountain range. The remains were found at an altitude of about 900 meters above sea level, on the slope of a hill. All 22 people on board died.

“Rosaviatsiya decided to suspend the operator certificate of our airline Vityaz-Aero. I have repeatedly said that our main task is to thoroughly determine the causes of the plane crash and take necessary measures to improve safety. At the same time, of course, we will do everything possible to preserve the potential accumulated by the company, primarily personnel and aircraft, strengthening interaction with our Kamchatka state aviation company.” — wrote Solodov on his Telegram channel.

He clarified that the issue of leasing helicopters from the Vityaz-Aero company to Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise is being resolved.

“Several vessels will be rented in the near future. We carry out the corresponding work in order to ensure the main task: the implementation of all transportation tasks, both regular transportation and others of social importance for our neighbors. “All flights will be carried out without failures and this is the top priority.” – added the governor.
