The flight lasted 1 hour 10 minutes. The plane was piloted by the crew of Tupolev JSC.
“A flight test program has begun with new Russian components on the Tu-214 aircraft, which is used as a flight laboratory,” — said the first deputy general director of the UAC, general director of JSC Tupolev Konstantin Timofeev.
During the flight, the necessary checks were carried out on a number of components and components of on-board systems and equipment. According to the crew, the flight proceeded normally, the systems and equipment worked without problems.
“On the basis of this vehicle we will continue flight testing, modernization and development of the Tu-214 platform, including the creation of a two-member cockpit,” – Konstantin Timofeev emphasized.
We remind you that the Tu-214 aircraft with tail number 64509 has been operated by Transaero Airlines since 2007. In 2015 it stopped flying and was stored. In June 2024, after regaining airworthiness, the plane took off again. In July, the flight laboratory was sent to the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant No. 407 to be painted with a new decoration in accordance with the corporate style of the UAC. After painting, the aircraft returned to KAZ for further modernization.
