Now Russian users who have abandoned YouTube will have a more comfortable and, most importantly, faster experience with VK Video, this was confirmed by the press service of both companies.
To do this, it was necessary to install more than a hundred cache services in the operator’s infrastructure.
“Rostelecom and VK specialists have implemented improvements to speed up the loading of VK Video content for Rostelecom subscribers. More than a hundred VK cache servers are installed in Rostelecom’s infrastructure.” – says the press service.
The companies also confirmed that the VK CDN network nodes are distributed in key nodes of the Rostelecom network throughout the country. This is what allows you to distribute the load more evenly and deliver content much faster, even during load peaks.
“The video is downloaded directly from CDN servers located in the Rostelecom network, bypassing remote data centers.” – he clarified in the message.
