“Swiss company Stadler Rail Group is building a regional service centre in the Buyukshor area of Baku and plans to put it into operation in 2026.”
This was reported to “Report” by Rovshan Rustamov, President of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) JSC.
R. Rustamov informed that an agreement was signed between ADY and Stadler Rail Group for the provision of services for repair, maintenance and consulting of railway vehicles:
“According to the contract, a regional service centre will be built on the territory of Buyukshor. Not only Azerbaijan, but also other neighbouring countries will benefit from the services of the centre.”
According to him, repair and maintenance of all types of Stadler vehicles, which are currently actively used on the railways, will be carried out here.
R. Rustamov added that technical support for the Stadler trains will allow the readiness of these vehicles to exceed 95%.
The head of ADY said that during this year the institution aims to purchase 10 passenger trains from the company “Stadler Rail Group”:
“Four of these trains are already in use, three are in the country and three will be delivered by the end of the year.”
