RTVE Cascajosa postpones the council that was to vote on its continuity

Cascajosa Designinterim president of RTVE, decided to suspend the council that was held this Tuesday to debate and vote on her continuity at the head of the public channel, once the six months agreed by the councilors last March have expired. Next week, the council will meet again. Cascajosa prevented this from happening a vote I had lost and gain time to seek with Moncloa a way out of the chaos that RTVE is experiencing.

Cascajosa does not have the majority on the RTVE board of directors, and this Tuesday, it was seen again. Elena Sanchez, former president of the entity, did not attend the meeting but delegated her vote to her faithful squire, José Manuel Martín Medem. Both have not supported Cascajosa since her appointment, considering that she betrayed Sánchez during her term at the head of the public network.

Cascajosa was elected interim president of the public broadcaster on March 27 with the votes in favor of councilors Ramón Colom (PSOE), Roberto Lakidain and José Manuel Martín Medem (Sumar) and Juanjo Baños (PNV), and thanks to the abstention of Elena Sánchez, former president of the entity dismissed a few hours earlier by the same council. The three councilors proposed by the PP voted against -Jenaro Castro, Carmen Sastre and Consuelo Aparicio-.

Since then, Elena Sánchez has no longer supported Cascajosa in the council and has also managed to get her ally Martín Medem to vote against Cascajosa on several occasions. Sánchez and Medem consider that Cascajosa betrayed the former president during his term and do not forgive him for collaborating in his impeachment.

Elena Sánchez and Medem were more in favor of supporting the option of the councilors proposed by the PP, which implies a rotating presidency until the PP and the PSOE agree on a new presidency. This rotating presidency, according to age, implied that Ramón Colom would be the next president, followed by Medem.

However, in Moncloa they do not trust Colom, despite being a councilor proposed by the PSOE. During these years he has shown himself free in the council votes.

All the current chaos culminated in the March council meeting in which Elena Sánchez forced the dismissal of Jose Pablo Lopez, Director of Contents, a man close to Moncloa. Sánchez refused to accept the millionaire contract David Broncano and your program The revoltwhich ultimately cost him his job. After forcing Lopez to resign, the board removed him from office and appointed Cascajosa for six months.
