Rufián demands that the PSOE also negotiates the path of the deficit in order not to resist the “blackmail” of Junts

The spokesman for Esquerra Republicana in Congress, Gabriel Rufian, considers it “a mistake” that the PSOE does not resist what it considers “blackmail” from Junts with the vote in favor of the deficit path and warns that the government will have to negotiate now with ERC, which has interests different from those of Carles Puigdemont’s party.

In statements in the halls of Congress, Rufián considers that the government’s decision to withdraw the spending cap from this week’s plenary session of Congress, because it did not have enough support for its approval, means opening negotiations, and not only with Junts.

“Let the PSOE understand that if it opens it to some, it opens it to everyone. “We are starting from scratch, okay,” he said, demanding that ERC also be included in this process. “And we will surely not have the same interests as the Catalan right, but we will try,” he added.

Asked if he considered the government wrong to give in to the opening of negotiations, Rufián said: “It is always a mistake not to oppose the blackmail of the right, always, whatever its flag.”
