Iran and Russia completely abandoned the dollar in mutual agreements and switched to national currencies. This was announced at the 11th annual conference on modern banking and payment systems by the head of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic, Mohammad Reza Farzin.
“We have signed a monetary agreement with Russia and completely eliminated the dollar. “Now we only trade in rubles and rials.” – Farzin said as quoted by TASS.
The financial departments of Iran and the Russian Federation agreed on the exchange rate to be used in foreign trade transactions, Farzin noted.
Recall that on October 21, the Kremlin reported that the use of national currencies in mutual agreements between Iran and Russia increased this year by 12.4 percentage points, up to 96%.
