Russia and Kazakhstan discuss the possibility of resuming passenger traffic

The Russian Railways (RZD) company is studying the possibility of resuming passenger traffic from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to Moscow, the Kazinform news agency reports.

As stated by the director of Russian Railways Oleg BelozerovThe resumption of passenger trains from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to Moscow according to a new schedule is being discussed.

He also noted that special attention is paid to the “deployment” of the routes of the “North-South” international transport corridor (ICT). Taking advantage of the eastern route, the railways of Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan develop regular container services here.

It was previously reported that in 2027 Kazakhstan will complete the construction of a new railway to China.
