Russia and Ukraine today exchanged the second group of prisoners of war, agreed in the second round of the negotiations of Eastanbul, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
This exchange, which includes injured, painful and younger than 25 years, follows Kana. As on Monday, the defense did not indicate the number of exchanged prisoners or the date of the upcoming exchanges, which will be held in the “everything for everyone” format, but will not be less than 1000, as previously reported by the Russian chief of negotiations, Vladimir Medinski.
Unlike Eve, when the Russian military command indicated that this exchange was included in prisoners under the age of 25, this Tuesday did not explain which of the categories the military belonged to. “At present, the Russian military is located in Belarus, where they are offered the necessary psychological and medical care,” the Russian military command added.
“All the Russian military will be transferred to Russia to receive medical care and rehabilitation at the medical centers of the Ministry of Defense,” the ministry says.
The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, also previously indicated that the exchange would continue for several stages in the next few days.
The exchange takes place in the midst of contradictions around Russia returning to 6,000 organs of Ukrainian soldiers who have fallen into battle, which Ukraine has not yet received. The exchange on Monday occurred, in turn, after the largest attack of drones by Russian troops on Ukraine, part of the response to the Ukrainian operation over the eyelids in Russian territory, which led to the destruction of several planes through drones introduced in the country without detection.
The head of the Russian negotiators accused Ukraine on Saturday of “indefinite layout” about the delivery of corpses before noving “not to create artificial obstacles and false statements” in order to impede the exchange process.
