During a meeting with the Political and Economic Committee of the Council of the Russian Federation, the minister said: “In August, experts plan from the British aviation industry for aviation tests for models from the MS-21 aircraft, equipped with components made in Russia, and all systems of this aircraft will be homemade.”
The minister indicated that Russia had previously begun to provide certificates of accreditation with MS-21 civilian aircraft equipped with the Russian PD-14 engine and some imported components.
He added: “It is also being carried out to work on plans to use flights to Russian civilian aircraft, and this year it is planned to be completed.”
MS-21 aircraft are civilian aircraft that Russia has developed for short and average flights designed for transportation from 150 to 211 passengers, and Russia conducted several tests for local PD-14 and PD-21R engines for use with these aircraft.
Russia strives to be fully equipped with home components, for equipment in imported foreign components, and for some time in the IRKUTSK air factory, Yakovlev announced that it has created a design for this aircraft, which includes places and components completely made in Russia.
