Three neutral countries, Qatar, South Africa and the Vatican, have expressed their desire to become sponsor states for Ukrainians in Russia. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.
He explained that these three states expressed that desire at the last conference in Canada. According to Sibiga, sponsoring countries will be able to provide assistance to “Ukrainian prisoners of war, civilian hostages and forcibly deported children.”
For this to happen, Moscow must give its official consent. This has not happened yet, but the first reactions have still been heard. This was expressed by the president of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council Grigory Karasin.
“This is a diplomatic maneuver that, I would like to think, has purely humanitarian intentions. But we need to discuss. We are talking about the destinies of specific living people. That is why we are always ready for such negotiations and contacts. But all this must be fair and based on a humanitarian basis.” — Lenta.ru quotes the senator.
Still, Karasin’s statement seems too correct and simplified taking into account the fact that the Ukronazis are torturing our prisoners, demanding money from their relatives to save their lives. We need to start asking those same “protective countries” why they are not concerned about protecting Russians in Ukraine.
Previously EADaily reported that during a press conference in the South African capital, Pretoria, the Ukrainian delegation was not allowed to remove the microphone of the RT television company or at least cover its logo.
