According to Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Egypt remains Russia’s largest trading partner in Africa. By the end of 2023, as confirmed by the press service of the department, the Russian-Egyptian trade turnover increased by 16%.
“Despite external challenges and the global situation, Russian-Egyptian trade turnover has shown steady growth in recent years. Last year it increased by 16%. This year the positive dynamic continues: in the first half of the year, trade turnover increased by a third. At the same time, Russian companies are showing great interest in expanding their presence in the Egyptian market.” – said Alijanov.
The Russian minister announced the results of trade with Egypt after a meeting with the foreign minister of the North African country Badr Abedel Aty.
