Oksana Lut, head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that the national agricultural sector has achieved the goal of food security. According to the minister quoted by RIA Novosti today, November 7, the quality of the harvest turned out to be higher than last year. Only a third of the volume of wheat came from the first and third classes.
The information was presented during Lut’s speech at a Russian government meeting.
“Our domestic consumption of cereals is 87 million tons. Therefore, we have already fully guaranteed food security in this area.” – confirmed the head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
EADaily recalls that Oksana Lut previously confirmed the volume of grain harvesting from the beginning of 2024 in the amount of 128 million tons. In total, the harvest plan for the current year is about 130 million tons, of which 83 million tons are wheat.
