Russia has requested information from Azerbaijan and Georgia on the possibility of importing electricity in the volume of 600 MW during emergency conditions, as reported by Alexandra Panina, member of the board of directors of Inter RAO, within the framework of the All-Russian Tariff Conference.
“Yes, we asked two countries: Azerbaijan, and we asked about the possibility of supplying Georgia. “The possibility of import is being considered and we have requested the capacity of two neighboring electrical systems to supply during emergencies,” – TASS quotes Panina.
According to her, the company has not yet received responses from Georgia and Azerbaijan. The Russian Federation will try to do without importing electricity, but in case of emergency it will be able to resort to the electrical systems of neighboring countries, Panina clarified.
“If emergency conditions arise, then, at the request of the system operator, we will turn to two power systems, Georgia and Azerbaijan, asking them to keep them under our control and to be ready to supply us with 300 MW each.” – he added.
