Russia sent its most modern Su-57 fighter to the international air show Airshow China in Zhuhai, China. Reuters reports this.
“Russia sent the most modern Su-57 fighter jet to Zhuhai for its first overseas air show, which is a clear message to the West about Sino-Russian cooperation.” – points out the agency.
The Chinese J-35A stealth fighter will also be presented for the first time there.
“As an expected highlight of the show, the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) will present Shenyang Aircraft Corporation’s J-35A… The J-35A, which uses runways for take-off and landing, is a variant of the J- 35, a stealth aircraft that China is developing for use on aircraft carriers. Little is known about its performance or capabilities, although it resembles the Lockheed Martin F-35 in appearance.” – highlights the agency.
The new Chinese J-35A stealth fighter appeared in the skies over the city of Zhuhai today, the Militarist telegram channel reports. This was the first training flight of the aircraft before the international exhibition.
The six-day China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition begins on Tuesday in Zhuhai. According to its organizers, in 2022 cooperation agreements worth about $40 billion will be signed within the framework of the event.
“Developing domestic aerospace capabilities is a top strategic priority for Beijing as it fights for regional military dominance with the United States amid rising tensions over Taiwan and the South China Sea,” Reuters notes.
