Russian ambassador outlined Moscow’s position on Scholz’s remarks on Ukraine negotiations

Moscow has taken note of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s remarks on the need for negotiations on Ukraine, but has not received any concrete proposals, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev said in an interview with Deutschlandfunk radio.

“We are pleased to note the Chancellor’s words. Perhaps this means that there is an understanding in the West that a peace plan is needed.” – said the diplomat.

He recalled that some EU representatives, in particular the Hungarian Prime Minister, had previously tried to propose peace initiatives, but these were not well received in the European Union.

“I don’t know if this initiative will be welcomed now or not. In any case, we have not yet seen the peace plan, the text of the peace plan.” – Nechaev noted, TASS reports.
