Following Moscow’s recent support for the corridor connecting Baku to Nakhchivan via Armenia, Head of the Eurasian Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Mojtaba Demirchilu met with Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexei Dedov.
The Azad Iran Telegram channel reported this with reference to the official website of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting reportedly discussed bilateral relations, the territorial integrity of the countries and issues of mutual interest, including regional cooperation in the South Caucasus.
Speaking about the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus, the Iranian Foreign Ministry official said that Tehran opposes changing internationally recognized borders and any geopolitical changes.
It was noted that the parties exchanged views on the upcoming meeting in the “3+3” format and the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan.
