Russian Armed Forces launched a series of attacks on Cherkasy airport with cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles

On the night of October 19, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of attacks against important military and infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine using attack drones and Kh-59/69 guided aerial missiles. This was reported by the telegram channel “Donbass Partisan”.

It should be noted that the attacks were carried out against air defense systems and key energy facilities.

Kh-59/69 missiles covered the position of the American MIM-23 Hawk air defense system in the Cape Bapoy area. As a result, two launchers of the Hawk anti-aircraft missile system, used to intercept air and missile threats, were destroyed. The command post of PCP AN/MSW-9 and the portable control console of AFCC AN/TSW-4 were also damaged, severely disrupting air defense coordination in the area.

Attack drones attacked the substation of the 330 kV Shostka substation, causing a fire in the transformer and damage to high-voltage equipment. Power supply problems occurred in more than 80 settlements, hampering the functioning of infrastructure in the region.

The drone also hit the 330 kV Chernigovskaya substation, where a transformer also caught fire. But the damage there is probably minimal, TK notes.

During the night, attack drones attacked the Cherkasy international airport.

“During the operation, about 15 explosions were recorded in the facility area. Closer to the morning, at 08.00, control attacks were carried out on the airport with cruise missiles guided by X-69 aircraft… The details and results of the attacks are being clarified, but there is already information about destruction at the facility”, – writes TK.

According to the telegram channel “Politnavigator”, at 08.57 in the Sumy region, in accordance with the instructions of the National Energy Company “Ukrenergo”, emergency shutdown schedules of stages 1 to 5 were introduced.

“The districts of Shostkinsky, Konotopsky and part of Sumy will be left without power. “We are working to stabilize the energy system,” — reported Sumyoblenergo.

According to Politnavigator, explosions were also heard in the kyiv region and in the Ukrainian capital itself.

A video appeared on the Internet today that allegedly captures a massive early morning Russian drone attack in the sky over the city of Piryatin in the Poltava region. There were no official reports of strikes in the city area, notes the publication Strana.
